Several weeks ago a colleague asked me whether or not I had noticed the group of large birds' nests on 131 North. I had not. But then, just a few days ago another colleague at another college asked me the same question. "Have you, while making the daily drive up 131 noticed the huge nests on the right side of the highway just after the landfill?" "No, but I will look for them." So, my carpool partner and I, armed with cameras yesterday morning went searching. She had already asked her husband, Bill. Bill has an uncanny mind for trivia, and reportedly knew all about them. They are Great Blue Herons. Here are the photos of the sunrise and the nests.
